Why food service not included in the Budget Arrangement? You can buy meals from local ger guesthouses by paying only 2 or 3 usd per meal. There is plenty of food shops on the way when you are touring. You can carry your own food from UB. It is nice you eat our own breakfast and then buy meals for lunch and dinner. Meals will be basic and usually cooked Mongolian traditional or Russian styled foods. Or you can get basic free kitchen belonings from us and cook yourself.more other Customers' FAQs

Detailed Itinerary

Day1. Karakorum - former capital city of Genghis Khan

pick you up from your accommodation - drive to Karakorum /350 km/ - lunch time - check-in to the local accommodation - explore and enjoy historical sites around Erdene Zuu khiid (Erdene Zuu monastery complex), visit to the Museum and Great imperial map and at Karakorum - dinner time - free time - overnight there

Karakorum, the capital of Great Mongolian State where today there is a small local township. In the history, the city of Karakorum was founded in 1220 in Orkhon River Valley by order of Genghis Khan and after collapsing of Yuan dynasty of Khuvilai Khan Min state’s invaders sacked the city and massacred its inhabitants in 1388 and ruined it.

Day2. Ongi Monastery Ruin - hiking

breakfast time - visit to nomadic family and enjoy their daily life and taste organic dairy products - drive to Saikhan-Ovoo, sub-provincial center /223 km/ - refuel car and go to local food market - drive to Ongiin khiid /17 km/ - check-in to the local accommodation - lunch time - explore Buddhist temple ruins, once was biggest complex in 17th century at Ongi Monastery - dinner time - free time - overnight there

Then we will drive to Ongi Monastery Ruin. On the route, you will realized open grassland steppe gradually changing to arid semi desert nature. Ongi Monastery Ruins is the visible ruins of a Buddhist monastery founded in 1760 and destroyed in 1937 by communists.

Day3. Bayanzag - famous dinosaur site

breakfast time - drive to Bayanzag /170 km/ - check-in to the local accommodation - lunch time - free time - dinner time - Hike and explore most famous dinosaur site, Bayanzag or Ulaan ereg (Flaming Cliffs) in the setting sun - overnight in there

Bayanzag, a saxual forest and area of red cliffs “Bayanzag” which have been formed from the erosion of the sand and rock over many thousands of years. A lot of dinosaurs’ findings such as skeleton & dinosaur’ eggs have been found there. Before reach in Bayanzag, we will see Gobi precious stone market.

Day4. Khongor Sand Dune - oasis tour & climb up

breakfast time - drive Bulgan, sub-provincial center /20 km/ - visit to local precious stone market and refuel car and go to local food market - drive to Khongoryn els /120 km/ - check-in local accommodation - lunch time - short drive to Khongoryn els /8 km/ - Climb up to over 200 m high Khongoryn els (Singing or Khongor sand dunes) and ride two humped camels around picturesque desert oasis Khongoryn gol (Khongor river) - drive back to local accommodation /8 km/ - dinner time - free time - overnight there

The Khongor Sand dunes range from 20 to 25km in width, nearly 100km long, with crests rising 80 to 300m above the surrounding landscape. The two-humped camels are very comfortable to ride, as they walk slowly and gently and we will be well supported by the humps, sitting comfortably between them. Our camel man will take us to the sand-dunes.

Day5. Yol Valley - horse ride

breakfast time - drive to Yolyn am /170 km/ - lunch time - horse back riding in picturesque narrow Yolyn am (Eagle valley) and see ice glaciers in hot summer time in the second biggest Desert in the World, Gobi and visit to local attractive museum - drive to and check-in the local accommodation /18 km/ - dinner time - free time - overnight there

Yolyn Am, the valley begins from Zuun Saikhan Mountain, a branch of the Gurvan Saikhan mountain system, and stretches over 10 km.

Day6. Demchig Monastery

breakfast time - drive to Dalanzadgad town /40 km/ - refuel the vehicles and go to food shop and internet cafe - drive to sub-provincial center Tsogtssetsii village /100 km/ - lunch time - see Tavan Tolgoi mining site which is one of the most big coal site in the World - drive to Oyu Tolgoi mining site /150 km/ - see World famous copper mining site which is largest project in Gobi desert - drive to Demchig Monastery /20 km/ - check in local accommodation - dinner time - visit to Demchig Monastery - overnight there

The Monastery was founded by Danzan Ravjaa a renowned monk who contributed significantly to the Mongolian culture. The 100-year-old monastery was destroyed in the 1930s, during the Stalinist era.

Day7. Suikhent Mountain - petrified trees 

breakfast time - drive to sub-provincial center Khanbogd /15 km/ - refuel vehicle and go to food shop - drive to Suikhent Mountain Natural Monuments /150 km/ - lunch time - hiking around Suikhent Mountain look and see petrified trees - dinner time - overnight there

This Suikhent Uul is home of petrified trees. In the desert and also in the line of dunes lies this impressive high concentration of ancient petrified trees up to twenty meters and a diameter of five feet. The formation is 500 meters long.

Day8. Khamar Monastery - energy center.

breakfast time - drive to World Energy Center // - check in to the local accommodation - lunch time - visit to the World Energy Center and Khamar Monastery - dinner time - free time - overnight there

The monastery was established by educator, poet and noble monk Danzanravjaa in 1820. He chose the site of the monastery believing the surrounding area radiated with a spiritual energy fostered by the Gobi desert. But the monastery was completely destroyed by communist purges in 1937.

Day9. Ikh Nart Nature Reserve - wild sheep.

breakfast time - drive to provincial center Sainshand town /30 km/ - visit to a museum, that is named Danzanravjaa's - refuel vehicle and go to food shop and internet cafe - drive to Ikh Nart Nature Reserve // - check in to the local accommodation - visit to the research center of the Nature Reserve and hike and explore Ikh Nart Nature Reserve and look wild sheep - dinner time - overnight there

The Ikh Nart (Great Sunny) Nature Reserve is a nature reserve located in the Dornogobi Aimag or East Gobi Province of Mongolia. Established in 1996, Ikh Nart covers an area of about 66,000 hectares of grassland and semi-desert steppe environments and harbors one of the last remaining populations of Argali Sheep.

Day10. Ulaanbaatar

breakfast time - drive to sub-provincial center Shivee Gobi village /50 km/ - lunch time - drive to Ulaanbaatar /260 km/ - transfer you to your accommodation - end
