In winter there is only one way to go to South Gobi Desert from Ulaanbaatar is the land transportation. Our company offers shuttle bus transportation till Dalanzadgad & from there you will use private off road van transportation. This 4 days tour enables you see Eagle Valley, Khongor Sand Dunes and Bayanzag which are the biggest draw of South Gobi was provides for sightseers. You’ll spend 3 nights in gers – warming yourself by the stove. We’ll make a nice warm fire in your ger before you head to bed, and we’ll provide plenty of coal so you can keep the fire going as you wish, although you will find that traditional Mongolian gers provide excellent insulation so hold heat extremely well. We will also make sure that in the morning you wake up to a nice warm ger!

Day1. Ride to Dalanzadgad town & Bayanzag
Day2. Khongor Sand Dune

Day1. Ride to Dalanzadgad & Bayanzag – famous dinosaur site
We will pick you up from your accommodation at 07:00 o’clock & transfer to the bus station. Then we will ride to Dalanzadgad town (600 km – 9 hours on the paved road). Аfter you arrived there, our local guide and driver will pick you up and drive to Bayanzag (100 km – 2 hours on the dirt road). American zoologist Roy Chapman Andrews discovered this place and named as Flaming Cliffs. A lot of dinosaurs’ findings such as Protoceratops & dinosaur’ eggs have been found there in first time. We will walk around the site. Overnight in the local ger guesthouse.
Day2. Khongor Sand Dune – camel riding & climb up to top
After breakfast time, we will drive to Khongor Sand Dune (150 km – 5 hours on dirt road). Khongor is biggest sand dune in the Gobi Desert that extend from 5 to 10 km in width, nearly 100 km long, with crests rising 80 to 300m above the surrounding landscape. The booming sound produced by the masses of moving sand can be heard from afar when occurs windy day. Hence locals called it as Singing Sands. Near Khongor River at the northern edge of the dunes, there is an oasis. We will ride camels today to explore these massive sand-dunes and explore the area where climbing one of the dunes affords the energetic traveler with an unforgettable experience of endless vistas across a sea of daffodil-colored sand. Overnight in the local ger guesthouse.
Day3. Yol Gorge
After breakfast time, we will drive to Yol Valley (190 km – 5 hours on the dirt road). Yol means vulture in Mongolian and the gorge is located in Gurvan Saikhan Mountain range & stretches over 10 km. The narrowest part, only 3 or 4 person can pass in same time, of the valley is completely shaded from the direct sun shine by high cliff walls. We will do an hour hiking there. Then we will drive to Dalanzadgad town (50 km – 1 hour on the paved road). Overnight in the local hotel.
Day4. Ride back to Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast time, you will be directly transferred to local bus station & catch the bus to Ulaanbaatar city (600 km – 9 hours on the paved road). After arrive in the city, we will pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation.
End time: around 18:00 o’clock
Total driving distance: Ulaanbaatar – Dalanzadgad – Ulaanbaatar: 1200 km & Gobi Desert part: 530 km
