Day1. Drive to Murun town
We will pick you up from your accommodation at 07:00 o’clock & drive to Murun town (800 km – 12 hours on the paved road). Overnight in the local hotel.
Day2. Drive to Ulaan-Uul or Rеnchinlkhumbe village
After breakfast time, we will drive to Ulaan-Uul village or Renchinlkhumbe village (If Khuvsgul Lake is completely frozen, we will go over Khuvsgul Lake to Renchinlkhumbe village. If not we will go to Ulaan-Uul village). Both villages are located in the Darkhad Depression which is a wide plain surrounded by 2000-3000 m high mountains roughly the same size as Khuvsgul Lake basin. This fantastically beautiful place with countless rivers and containing over 300 small lakes. Overnight in the local ger guesthouse or hotel.
Day3. Drive to reindeer people of Eastern taiga
After breakfast time, we will drive to reindeer people (distance and time depends on the weather or road condition). The drive itself is over some difficult mountainous areas but the scenery is spectacular. Cars can freely go to the winter place of tsaatan people in the eastern taiga, but it depends on how much snow has fallen. It might be necessary to horse ride for some hours to arrive the reindeer people – depends their exact location. Before dinner time, finally we will reach to Duka people home. Overnight with the family (tepee or wooden house).
Day4. Spend the whole day with the reindeer people
You can learn about and appreciate different ways of life. For indigenous communities, it can facilitate cultural exchange and celebration. And for those that are struggling to maintain their livelihoods and traditions, it’s also a way of educating others about their situation, earning some money and playing an active part in the maintenance of their culture. You will enjoy the relaxing, beautiful and silent nature. Overnight with the family (tepee or wooden house).
Day5. Back to Ulaan-Uul or Renchinlkhumbe village
After breakfast time, we will drive back to back for reaching to Ulaan-Uul or Renchinlkhumbe village (distance and time depends on the weather or road condition). After lunch time, we will reach to Tsagaannuur village. Overnight in the local ger guesthouse or hotel.
Day6. Drive to Murun town
After breakfast time, we will drive to Murun town. Overnight in the local hotel.
Day7. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast time, we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar (800 km – 12 hours on the paved road) After you arrived in the city, we will transfer you to your accommodation.
End time: Around 20:00 o’clock
